You learn a lot about a person when you work fourteen hour days, seven days a week with them. Being a Drill Sergeant in the United States Army is one of the most challenging of positions and one that I am so thankful that I had Rodney Mueller teaching, coaching and mentoring me through. I can say from firsthand knowledge that Rodney’s dynamic leadership extracts the best out of all those he trains and works with. I have never been employed with someone that cared more about the mission and the development of his Soldiers than Rodney did. He has a unique ability to see what is holding someone back from being extraordinary and pursues them and their talent until they are able to realize this potential in themselves. I am a better leader and human being because of my time spent with Rodney.

Rodney Mueller started training with me as my coach approximately 8 months ago, we have weekly conversations about various subjects.

Rodney quickly made me realize awareness in my life and how to practice many things related to “owning my time”, “taking care of myself”, “showing vulnerability”, “making peace with the past”, “celebrating accomplishments” and many more processes….

I’d have to admit early in the process, I was reluctant to speak to Rodney each week but now I do look forward to our conversations! Rodney is a great listener and somehow gets more out of me each week than I initially planned on sharing. It seems to play out when I do not have a topic to specifically discuss, we end up digging into something spontaneously and the result is quite interesting….!

Additionally while being transparent, I have never been a man to really open up to others regarding my feelings/thoughts etc.….I am more than happy that I have been blessed to meet Rodney and go through these weekly conversations and peel back the onion of my previous lifestyle. I am truly looking forward to continuing these conversations and better understanding additional practices of awareness.

What makes Rodney special is his ability to tie together personal thoughts, behaviors and experiences to a business context. For me personally, Rodney inspires confidence in me as a leader, and helps me see my strengths and potential. He is incredibly perceptive, and as a result, we get to the root of an issue quickly.
